If you feel like all you can hear these days is “AI optimization,” “automations,” and “Can we make this agentic?”…
…Then you will hear more on that from us. Sorry, no surprises here.
But all our fresh-off-the-oven October updates are here to help you run your AI-visibility plays on autopilot. So that you can finally answer with an enthusiastic “YES WE CAN” to that last question.
We had a busy summer. Your AI visibility workflow is about to get a serious boost: Surfer MCP is out of beta! Now your agent can work with live Surfer data rather than vibes. It covers the entire Surfer toolset, and we also threw in some ready-to-grab skills. And, the improved Recommendations read all your AI Search Analytics signals, so you will always know what to do next (yes, that’s included in the MCP too).
And we have three more updates. So, strap in and let’s go!
Surfer MCP: Out of Beta and Open to Pro Plan and Above
Last month we put Surfer MCP into Beta and asked for your feedback. You delivered. And now our MCP is out for Pro, Peace of Mind, and Enterprise Plans.
Plug Surfer into any AI agent that speaks MCP (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, Codex) and let it plan, write, score, and optimize content with live Surfer data, without switching between the apps.
The setup is easy: point your tool at https://mcp.surferseo.com/mcp, sign in with your Surfer account, and you're connected. The agent works with your real SEO and AI Search signals, your guidelines, your AI Tracker data, and your brand knowledge. And we have a set of ready skills to make your workflows ever easier.
Outline, generate, and optimize data-based content that sounds exactly like your brand. Run scheduled reports, chain with your CMS to publish in the same thread, and execute built-in skills: packaged workflows that write an article or improve an existing page end-to-end with one command.
And just like we said last month, this is a step toward our own Surfer Agent—a setup where you leave your AI SEO busywork in our hands and focus on the fun stuff (and making just the calls you want).
Surfer MCP is available on Pro, Peace of Mind, and Enterprise. It's fresh out of Beta, so tell us what to build next at jakub.sadowski@surfeseo.com

Improved Recommendations: From Dashboard to Action Plan
AI Search Analytics has been showing you high-quality AI visibility data for quite some time now. But we realize turning those insights into an action plan was a hurdle.
That's handled now. Recommendations read your AI visibility signals and give you an action plan covering both on- and off-page activities. You’ll know which pages to write, optimize, and re-optimize to pick up citations you're missing, which sources to reach out to, and where you can buy a mention directly from Surfer.
(Plus, we added two more backlink providers to our marketplace so you can buy even more mentions directly from Surfer!)
Here's why it matters beyond saving you a decision: AI visibility is about getting mentioned, getting mentioned well, and becoming the source (yes, you may have heard it from us already, but we’re really determined to hammer it home). On-page optimization is just half the work done. A large part of what makes AI cite a page depends on other people’s pages. And we want to make it easier for you to get where you should be.
Tip: Pair the Recommendations with our MCP to really close the loop. Your agent can pull the top action points and start working on them. You don’t even have to open the app.

Agent Analytics: See Which Pages AI Crawlers Actually Visit
You know how LLMs talk about you. Now we want to show you what happened on your site that made you earn it.
We're building Agent Analytics that follows AI crawlers through your server logs. It will show you which pages ChatGPT, Perplexity, and the rest actually fetch, and how often. And which pages they never touched. We will also show you human visitors that LLMs sent to your sites.
The data will help you better assess your optimization efforts. Structure, depth, and sourcing only matter on a page a model actually pulled. Heavily crawled pages are proven assets worth keeping fresh, and the rarely crawled ones are your restructure queue.
We're improving AI Search Analytics’ performance too, so the visibility data you compare your logs against keeps getting sharper.
Agent Analytics is currently available via Cloudflare, and in closed beta. Email Jakub at jakub.sadowski@surferseo.com, and we'll set it up for you manually. Then tell us the good, the bad, and the ugly.

New Topical Map: Built Around Intent, Brand, and Business Context
Planning content hubs is about authority and visibility for AI SEO, sure. But a well-prioritized content map should consider business context, so that your content moves all the needles.
We’re rebuilding Surfer’s Topical Map to cover both cases. The new map will place more weight on entities authority, user intent and AI visibility than before, and use your brand knowledge to judge what makes sense for your bottom line. Plus, every hub will come with an explanation—what it covers, why it's there, how it connects to the rest.
Here's why it matters beyond a faster content plan: topical authority is how you stop being A source and become THE source. But to make the sale, you need to actually give your users what they’re looking for, not just be visible. The new topical map will help you achieve that.
The tool is in active development. Email Jakub, our Product Manager, at jakub.sadowski@surferseo.com to unlock the map.

🇫🇷 🇵🇱 Surfer in French and Polish: The Whole App in Your Team's Language
Surfer now speaks French and Polish.
You can change the UI language in your app settings to guarantee easier navigation for local teams and get reports for local stakeholders. More languages in the works.

Surfer Wordpress Plugin Gets The Full Power of Surfer Content Editor
The Surfer Content Editor Plugin for Wordpress now looks and feels just like it does in the Surfer app.
All the UI elements and functions are unified. Plus, the updates will now land on Wordpress at the same time they do inside the app.
What did we change exactly?
AI and SEO scores are now combined into one so you can easily optimize for Google and LLMs at the same time. You can see all the AI facts, not just SEO entities, and easily filter through them. You can also access all the research and outline options directly from Wordpress.

We have the data to prove why Surfer’s approach works
We refreshed our study on how AI visibility data differs depending on how you collect it.
Some AI search optimization tools run on commercial APIs. At Surfer, we scrape the data from client-facing products. And once again, we proved we’re in the right.
Scraped answers and API responses return completely different data. Overlaps barely reach 30%, even less in some categories.
That matters for every AI visibility tool you evaluate. If the insights you base your strategy on come from an API, you’re not optimizing for what your users actually see. You may as well use no tool at all.
→ Read the full study on LLM response scraping vs. using an API
And we also released a series of data studies showing the top 50 ranking domains per LLM. The September summaries are out, and we'll update them every month. You will know which type of sites AI favors, and which domains are most likely to get you a citation—though we always say that you need to check which sources matter the most for YOUR site. May not be those in the top 50!
But anyway, if you’re a stat-loving nerd, here you go:

New in Surfer Academy: Crank up your multi-channel visibility strategy
We know that even with all the automations and recommendations, it may be hard to figure out where exactly to start and how to connect different channels for your visibility strategy.
So we’re running webinar series to help you figure out just that.
[UPCOMING] Brand Consistency That Converts: From AI Search to Every Email You Send
On October 20th, join Jakub Sadowski (Head of Product at Surfer) and Darcy Sivanathan (Senior Growth & Acquisition Marketer at Signitic) walk you through building a communication workflow that strengthens your brand at every step.
First you'll see how your brand is perceived by AI, then how to create content that reinforces it. Finally, you'll see how to put it to work in a channel your team uses every day but rarely treats as a conversion channel: email signatures.
And you can also catch up on some of our past webinars:
[REPLAY] From Prompt to Post: Turning AI Search Data Into Social Content That Performs
Your website isn't the only thing AI reads. Your social feed is in the answer too.
Jakub Sadowski, Head of Product at Surfer and Emily Marsh, Head of Marketing at Iconosquare, showed how to run search and social as one workflow: find the topics where AI answers cite your competitors instead of you, turn one insight into an article, a LinkedIn post or a short-form video, and measure the result across both channels.
[REPLAY] Surfer MCP is FINALLY Here: Automate Your Entire SEO Workflow!
Connect Surfer MCP to Claude or ChatGPT to automate your SEO workflow and get publish-ready drafts on demand!
This session demonstrates how to connect your Surfer workspace directly to AI assistants. We showed a few ready-to-go action plans along with prompts (and results) to speed up your SEO, content, and AI visibility ops. A practical supplement to MCP docs if you want to get started fast!
That's a wrap for October!
Your agent can do the work with live Surfer data. Recommendations now give you a ready strategy for AI search optimization. And the Agent Analytics and the new Topical Map are being actively improved to take you one step closer to the “AI SEO on autopilot” promise.
Pages updated with Surfer are already 25% more likely to be cited in AI answers. Surfer users grew their Google and AI visibility by an average of 423% in 2025. And we bet that when we re-run these numbers by the end of this year, they’ll be even larger.
Already using Surfer? Connect your agent to the MCP, then ask it to give you your top 3 recommendations for today, and get to work—with MCP’s help, of course.
