Sites: Spot Rank Drops—Before It’s Too Late

A top-performing page just fell in rankings? You’ll know right away.

Rank Drop Insights detect when a page slides and stays down—so you can jump in and react before traffic takes a real hit.

Tips to try today:

  • Focus on drops from page 1—they matter most
  • Use the new Rank Drop filter in Sites to focus on content that needs your attention now
  • Use with branded filters in Sites to target business-critical keywords
  • Click the Content Editor link straight from the insight to start reoptimizing fast

Sites: Fresher GSC Data in Sites Dashboard

No more waiting 2 days for “final” data from Google.

Sites now shows all GSC data, even the unfinished stuff—so you get faster signals and fresher insights. Incomplete data is dashed so you know it might still change—but it’s there when you need it.

Tips to try:

  • Check the most recent 48 hours for spikes or traffic dips before they’re officially finalized
  • Use the dashed-line data to get early signals on newly published or updated pages
  • Combine with Rank Drops to spot traffic issues sooner

Set Your Brand Voice Once—Use It Everywhere

Set it and forget it.

You can now assign a default Custom Voice to your workspace—and Surfer will use it across all supported tools automatically (Content Editor, Auto-Optimize, Humanizer, Surfy, and more, with Surfer AI support for default voice coming soon).

Tips to try:

  • Upload a human-written article to create your custom voice
  • Set it as default in Org settings
  • Create and swap multiple voices for different clients or brands

Auto-Optimize: Smarter, Faster, with Full History and API access

You can now see exactly what changed, when, and how—thanks to full version history support for Auto-Optimize. Every time you run AO, it’ll save a snapshot you can revisit, compare, or undo. Plus, you can now apply your Custom Voice to all optimizations, so updates always sound like you.

And if you’re managing hundreds of articles? There’s a brand-new API endpoint for that. Run AO at scale, auto-apply changes, and ship updates without touching the Content Editor UI.

Tips to try:

  • After running AO, check the Version History tab to compare changes side by side
  • Use your Custom Voice to keep tone consistent while optimizing content
  • Try the new API if you’ve got a backlog of articles waiting for bulk updates
  • Turn off “Write new sections” if you just want light touch-ups—not full rewrites

Content Editor: New Workflow Tab for Best Results

Not sure where to start in Content Editor? Now you do.

The new Workflow tab guides you step-by-step from blank doc to fully-optimized, LLM-worthy content. No product tours, no guesswork—just the exact tools you need, in the order you need them.

Plus, we added a toggle button that lets you hide the guidelines panel completely if you prefer to write without distractions. 😎

Tips to try:

  • Use Insert Outline to generate structure from top SERP results or your own templates
  • Let Surfy draft your article, then fine-tune it with Auto-Optimize and Coverage Booster
  • Add internal links with Insert Links, review SEO details, and add images
  • Final step: run a plagiarism check, tweak metadata, and export straight to WordPress
  • Bonus: Turn your article into social media posts with a single click in the final step to boost promotion and brand mentions!

WordPress: Faster Image Loading with Async Export

Long posts with lots of images used to break exports. Not anymore.

Now, Surfer loads images asynchronously in WordPress—so even the biggest posts publish smooth and fast.

This fix is especially handy for users on slower servers or those who go all-in on visuals. And if you prefer, you can still force async (or sync) manually in the config.

Tips to try:

  • Export a post with 10+ images to see async in action
  • Use async for large content by default
  • Keep your config settings default unless you have a reason to override them
  • Enjoy the smoother export—no more timeout errors or partial posts

That’s a wrap (and a big one)

We shipped a ton this month—from smart rank drop alters, to AI visibility tracking, global voice settings, and a whole new way to work inside Content Editor.

✅ Don’t forget: every tool now has a guided Workflow to help you go from blank doc to ready-to-publish. You’ll find it under the ⚙️ Support icon in the top nav.
