Privacy Notice — Looker Studio Connector
§1. Purpose of this notice
This Privacy Notice explains how personal data and other information are processed when you use the Looker Studio Connector (the “Connector”) provided by Surfer sp. z o.o. with its registered office in Wrocław (Pl. Solny 14/3, 50-062 Wrocław, Poland), entered in the Register of Entrepreneurs of the National Court Register by the District Court for Wrocław-Fabryczna in Wrocław, 6th Economic Department of the National Court Register under KRS No.: 0000752993, NIP No.: 8971860264, with the share capital of PLN 53,600.00 (“Surfer”).
The Connector enables users to visualize and analyze analytics data generated by Surfer’s services (e.g. AI visibility and tracking data) within Google Looker Studio.
§2. Data Controller

§3. Categories of data processed
When using the Connector, the following categories of data may be processed:
Analytics data generated by Surfer’s services, such as:
- prompts or keywords tracked by the user,
- dates and time ranges,
- source identifiers or URLs,
- aggregated metrics (e.g. frequency or visibility counts),
- technical identifiers such as project IDs or configuration parameters.
The Connector does not process personal data of end users, nor does it process:
- names, email addresses, or contact details of individuals,
- customer content uploaded by users.
Any identifiers processed (such as project IDs) are technical and pseudonymous and do not directly identify natural persons.
§4. How the processing works
The Connector operates as follows:
- The user actively initiates data processing by opening or refreshing a report in Google Looker Studio.
- The Connector retrieves analytics data from Surfer’s API for visualization purposes.
- To ensure performance and reliability, limited technical data may be cached for a short period (up to 6 hours).
- Processing is performed via Google Apps Script and Google Looker Studio.
No background processing takes place without user interaction.
§5. Role of Google
Google acts solely as a technology and infrastructure provider, enabling the execution of the Connector and the visualization of reports in Looker Studio.
Google does not acquire ownership of the data and does not use the data for its own purposes.
Processing may take place in Google’s global data centers. As a result, data may be processed outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where applicable, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are relied upon.
§6. Legal basis for processing
The processing is based on:
- Article 6(1)(b) GDPR – processing necessary for the performance of a contract and provision of the requested service;
- Article 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interests in providing analytics, reporting, and visualization functionalities requested by users.
§7. Access and security
- Access to data processed via the Connector is technically restricted.
- Each Connector execution is isolated per user.
- Surfer does not access Connector data except where strictly necessary for troubleshooting or security purposes.
- Appropriate technical and organizational measures are implemented to protect the data.
§8. Data retention
- Data retrieved by the Connector is not stored permanently by the Connector.
- Any temporary caching is limited to a short duration (up to 6 hours) for performance reasons.
- Long-term storage and retention are governed by Surfer’s main Privacy Policy.
§9. Your rights
To the extent applicable under GDPR, you have the right to:
- request information about the processing of your data,
- request rectification or erasure,
- object to processing based on legitimate interests.
